  • Territory Responsibilities & Sales Personnel:

         Astron Electronics, Inc. has been a Southern California Manufacturers Representative since 1958.  The combined sales and marketing expertise of our sales staff spans well over 120 years.  We cover all of Southern California, bounded on the north by the Counties of San Luis Obispo, Kings, Tulare and Inyo, all the way to the San Diego border, inclusive (postal ZIP codes 900-935), Southern Nevada, bounded on the north by the Counties of Esmeralda, Nye and Lincoln, inclusive (postal ZIP codes 889-893), and the State of Baja California Norte, Mexico.

    Steven G. Tennessen, President
    Steve is the President and founder of Astron Electronics, Inc.  Astron Electronics, Inc. was started in 1994 after a successful stint in distribution.  Steve was part owner and CEO of Inductive Components and Crystal, a component distributor based in Orange County.  In 2000, Astron Electronics, Inc., bought Gravley and Associates, Inc. a very well-known and well respected manufacturers' representative firm in Southern California.  The  successful marriage of the two companies helped Astron grow to become one of the premier manufacturers representative firms in Southern California. 

    Steve was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Business. He is an active member of ERA National, Socal ERA, and ERA San Diego.  Steve is on the Board of the Southern CA chapter of ERA, as the Membership Chairman and was the Assistant Show Director for the SOCALEE trade show.  Steve has also teamed up with a fellow rep firm owner to purchase the SOCALEE trade show.

    Mindy Cadiz, General Manager & Distribution Manager 
    Mindy has been with Astron for 6 years. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a BS in Business Marketing.  She still attends CSULB and is working towards her MBA.
    Mindy is the General Manger and Corporate Secretary for Astron.  She manages the Inside and Outside sales team, coordinates principal visits, tradeshows, and Principal reporting.  She ensures that all requests for samples and quotes are handled by the proper salesperson and followed up accordingly with the principal. 
    Mindy works with the managers of all of our local distributors.  She visits to continue mind share and keeps their numbers to the forecasts that they create.  She also runs the many distribution promotions that we introduce.  Her overall involvement helps us close New Business Opportunities.
    Steve Donohoo, Field Sales Manager - Orange County & Riverside
    Steve has been with Astron for over 7 years now.  He graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a BA in liberal studies and a minor in business administration.  He came to us with over 10 years of sales experience in our marketplace.  His last position was in Southern California component sales for IC Solutions.
                                                                                                                                                                           
    Steve is Astron’s Senior field salesperson and is an officer of the corporation. He covers Southern Orange County, Riverside County, and select accounts in Los Angeles.  Steve’s product knowledge, sales ability, and longevity with Astron, help to bring us New Business Opportunities on a regular basis.
    Michael Singer,  Territory Manager - San Diego & Imperial
    Prior to joining Astron, Mike was the Regional Sales Manager with the Polese Company.  Prior to that he was the Regional Sales Manager at Ametek.  Mike brings with him 25 years of Sales Management and Field Sales experience. He has a strong background in selling many types of Electronic Components.  Mike has a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.
                                                                                                                                                                             
    Mike covers San Diego, Imperial Counties, and Temecula in Riverside  County. Mike is an active member of the San Diego chapter of ERA.  His knowledge, glamour shot photo, and sales ability bring us New Business Opportunities on a regular basis.

    Keith Kowasz, Territory Manager - LA, Ventura, & Santa Barbara

    Keith has been with Astron for over two years now. He has a BS from Northern Illinois University.  Keith opened the West Coast office for a local representative firm called Wavan Associates, Inc. They sold similar electronic components. Keith also worked for over a decade at a Contract Manufacturer in Illinois with his final position as Plant Manager.  

    Keith covers Northern Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley (Ventura & Kern Counties), Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. His experience with major OEM accounts brings us New Business Opportunities on a regular basis.

    Paul Galletta, New Business Development - L. A. & San Bernardino                                           
    Paul came to after being the National Sales Manager for Teledyne Microelectronics here in Los Angeles.  Paul spent 30 plus years with Teledyne, selling a variety of micro-electronics and hybrid components.
                                                                                                                                                                             
    Paul is responsible for Southern Los Angeles and he is our Military Guru covering select military accounts in San Bernardino and Orange County.  His 30 plus years of experience selling at major OEM customers in the LA territory brings us New Business Opportunities on a regular basis.
    Bud Hill, Field Sales - San Diego & Mexico                                                                                                                                
    Bud brings over 15 years experience dealing with the maqilladora industry of Mexico.  He has a total of 20 years of selling electronics is Southern California as both a distributor and a manufacturers representative.  His most recent position was with West Electronics.

    Enrique Loma (Bud Hill) is responsible for Southern San Diego and Baja Mexico.  Bud brought Astron over 20 years of rep and component sales experience.  His long-time experience with our product lines and his experience at major OEM customers in the Mexican territory brings us New Business Opportunities on a regular basis

    Stephen Klass, Distribution Manager                                                           
    Our third Stephen, was hired solely based on his name.  Seriously, Stephen came to Astron as a recent graduate of UC San Diego, and the University of Miami.  Stephen, started out in inside sales and he has done such a stellar job that we have promoted him to Field Sales.
                                                                                                                                                                         
    Stephen is responsible for inside sales through our distribution network.  His job is to refer B and C tier companies through distribution.  He follows up with the distributor until the orders are placed.  Stephen will also ensures that   all orders placed by our distributors turn into repeat business, by following up with the customer and/or distributor after the PO has been shipped to receive  the subsequent orders.  Stephen works with our outside sales force by setting up buddy calls with local distributors field salesmen when appropriate. His efforts of calling, qualifying and referring trade show, internet, and marketing leads to distribution, bring New Business Opportunities to Astron on a daily basis.
    Beth Baker,  Inside Sales                                                                                                     
    Beth is responsible for inside sales for each field salesman.  She is the liaison between our customers, the field sales team, and our principals.  Beth ensures that all orders placed with Astron turn into repeat business, by following up with the customers after the PO has been shipped.  Beth also follows up on all trade show, internet,  and other marketing leads to gain new business opportunities.  Beth's efforts bring New Business Opportunities to Astron on a daily basis.
    Jessica Younghans, Customer Service                                                                                                      Jessica is responsible for customer service, principal reporting, and Commission's. Jessica enters the manual commissions from commission reports into the ESI database.  She alerts the salesmen of any new opportunity or customer found in the commission statements to the specific field salesman. Her efforts of finding new customers and opportunities bring Astron New Business Opportunities on a daily basis.
    Jennifer Droney, Accounting                                                                                                                     
    Jennifer worked with Astron way back in 1998 through 2002 and then she moved to Hawaii.  For some reason, that is not explainable, she left Hawaii and is now with Astron again, in total Jen has worked for Astron for over 6 years.  Jen is responsible for accounting and commissions.  The detailed reports that she performs with the commission statements helps the field salesmen find New Business Opportunities with existing customers from other lines.
