Astron Electronics has been a Southern California Manufacturers Representative since 1953. Legendary Jack Berman started the Jack Berman Company in 1953, which was later purchased by Gravely and associates in 1981, and then purchased by Astron Electronics, Inc. in August of 2000. (Astron was originally founded by Steve Tennessen in June of 1994.)

Astron is centrally located in Huntington Beach, with remote offices in Oak Park, and San Diego. All locations are fully equipped to service our customers in a prompt and professional manner. The entire Astron staff has full access to Empowering Systems, a Lotus Notes based CRM software, made especially for manufacturers representatives. Our sales professionals can access and update their accounts at any location from any company issued laptop, iPad, or from their personal phones.

Astron is structured with seven field sales representatives, including a Distribution Manager, and two inside sales personnel for a total of nine employees. We can handle any customer requirement efficiently. For more detailed information about Astron, please review the presentation below.

Steven Tennessen
President & Field Sales (Select Accounts)

Steve is the President and founder of Astron Electronics, Inc. Astron was started in 1994 after a successful stint in distribution. Steve was part owner and CEO of Inductive Components and Crystal, a component distributor based in Orange County. In 2000, Astron, acquired Gravley and Associates a very well-known and well respected manufacturers’ representative firm in Southern California. The successful marriage of the two companies helped Astron grow to become one of the premier manufacturer’s representative firms in Southern California. Steve was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Business. He is an active member of ERA National and Southern CA ERA. Steve was past President of the Southern California ERA Chapter and currently holds the Vice Preseident postition with the Radio Pioneers, an exclusive electronics industry group started in 1929 based solely in Southern CA.

Beth Tennessen
Distribution Manager & Field Sales

Beth started with Astron in 2007. She was promoted from customer service to inside sales and finally to Distribution Manager, where she has spent the last 9 years. She is very involved at all levels of distribution. Incentive programs, Distributor customer calls, and she handles corporate events and trainings for each of our principal’s. Her long term relationships with distribution managers, brings Astron new business opportunties.

Michael Singer
Field Sales Manager – San Diego & Imperial

Mike is our field sales manager. He brings over 30 years of Sales Management and Field Sales experience, and has been with Astron since 2007. He is well versed in multiple industrial and technology manufacturing processes. He has a strong background in selling many types of Electronic Components. Mike has a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. Mike and several of his customers are members of the Palomar Amateur Radio Club in San Diego. He holds an Amateur Extra License. Mike is an active member of the San Diego chapter of ERA, IMAPS, and AFCEA. Mike calls on design engineers, project managers, and purchasing managers to ensure new business.

Tash Vlasho
Field Sales Engineer – LA, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern, & San Luis Obispo

Tash graduated from The Ohio State University, with a BA in English and History. Tash has performed as a sales, marketing, and business development executive for the past 25 years. Tash begin his career as a passive and electromechanical manufacturers rep in Southern California before progressing to Managing Partner for silicon valley based Premier Technical Sales, a leading specialty silicon rep organization. As a member of the founding team and Vice President of Sales for Aprisa, Tash helped pioneer the advent of advanced component data residing in searchable databases housed at distributor and manufacturer websites. Today Tash is pleased to bring quality and innovative solutions to the Astron customer base.

David Stone
Field Sales - Orange & Riverside

David is one of our latest additions to Astron as a highly experienced Field Sales Manager carrying 26 years of industry knowledge and a large background history in working with semiconductors. David graduated from Franklin College and spent 17 years working as a semiconductor manufacturer's representative for DynaRep. Following that role, he diversified himself to working as account manager at Synergy Technical Sales for another 9 years. We are confident that David's strong professional skills in sales operations and management will allow him to engage and grow relationships with not only existing business but establish new ones here at Astron.

James Kutscher
Field Sales – Southern LA, & San Bernardino

James comes to us with a background in metal fabrication equipment sales, electrical estimating and PM sales where he worked for many years as a field salesman covering Southern CA and the border. He has many contacts within our customer base which will allow him to quickly rebuild customer rapport and aid in a seamless transition. With his experience and relationships he has worked directly with facility managers, design engineers, project managers and procurement managers in gaining wins and finding solutions. His experience, professionalism and sales ability will help to ensure Astron new business opportunities and growth.

Edgar Reyes
Field Sales – California & Baja Mexico

Edgar possesses a BS in electronics from the University Autonomous of Baja California, Mexico. Edgar is an Engineer with 21+ years of experience in Electronics. He is a problem solver, change agent, cross functional team player, and team leader. He has hands-on experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Testing, scheduling, strategic planning, FDA regulations, Internal and external Audits, troubleshooting, data analysis, field testing and ISO standards (9001, 13485, 14000). He has been trained in best-In-Class Quality Management practices. Astron is excited to bring on board Edgar Reyes, now covering parts of southern California as well as Baja Mexico regions.

Andrew McFall
Field Sales - Orange & Riverside

Andrew is currently going to Cal State Long Beach, and is involved in STEM program with a declared major in Mechanical Engineering. He was previously at Tomlin Scientific, where he was involved with laboratory R&D as well as QC. Prior to Tomlin, his experience was in manufacturing, sales, marketing, and customer service. With over two years experience as inside sales for Astron, Andrew has branched out into the field and is now managing accounts in Orange County. Andrew calls on new and existing customers to promote our manufacturers and design in our products. Andrew is able to cultivate new opportunities and has an ability to build relationships with project management, engineering, and purchasing wherever he visits. Andrew closely monitors business trends, tracks electronic industry news, and networks with key industry professionals to maintain his relationships and identify new projects in their development phases. His positive attitude and quick learning skills continue to help him take on any new task we throw his way!

Jennifer Dinovelli
Office Manager

Jennifer processes all samples, quotes, and other customer requests for the field salespersonnel. She is automatically copied on emails to the fiels sales staff so she can monitor them while the salespeople are in the field selling. Jennifer processes all commissions from the factories and calculates them for the OSR’s. She is responsible for running and managing all principal reports and our ESI CRM Database.
